The decompression valve that needs to be pressed before starting reduces the compression pressure and effort to pull the starter rope. The Ematic system of Stihl MS 461 promotes reduction of chain lubricant consumption by up to 50%, depending on the cutting attachment used and the type of wood being cut. Other impressive features of the STIHL 461 includes controlled-delivery oil pump, side-mounted chain tensioning, HD2 filter for longer engine life, compensator, STIHL anti-vibration system, tool-free fuel caps and the single-lever master control.
